The home is the only investment I know of in which you can live in on a daily basis. I cannot live in my IBM stock. :). Good news is foreclosures are dropping, which makes for a healthier real estate market where we can finally assess truer market values of the homes in our area. I encourage everyone to learn more about the markets in which they live. A knowledgable buyer makes for a smarter investment for that buyer.
Ultimately buy a home as a place to call home, but knowing its true value, and all the ways financial markets affect that value, is simply a smart thing to do.
